Design of Hybrid Yarn with the Combination of Fiber and Filaments and Its Effect on the Denim Fabric Performance

Abstract Consumer choice and behavior are changing focusing on comfortable clothing along with fitting. Elastic yarn or fabric is necessary to achieve this comfortableness. By making elastic using material in production, cloths produced proper stretchability recovery. For that, core-spun was used, but due a lack of recovery performance, dual has been developed. Different elastane ratios, linear density, filaments were used the according desired stretchability. In study, denim performances evaluated by designing different composite/hybrid combination cotton fiber filaments. densities filaments, PET/PTT, PTT, PET, it found that finer yarn, strength, unevenness increased, elongation decreased. Using PET/PTT filament increases hairiness, PTT elongation. fabrics, coarser yarns higher stiffness, elasticity, shrinkage.
